Youth Education
Religious School/Hebrew School
At the heart of our youth education program lies a mission to inspire and nurture Jewish identity, community, and purpose. Through teaching core Jewish values and life skills, we cultivate a profound sense of belonging to the Jewish people, a meaningful connection to Israel, and a lifelong commitment to Judaism and making the world a better place (Tikkun Olam).
Our religious school serves children from Kindergarten through 6th or 7th grade, or until they are ready for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah. We provide a warm, engaging environment where students learn about Jewish traditions, history, and values while building a strong foundation for their Jewish journey.
Bar/Bat Mitzvah
Beginning at about six months prior to becoming b’nai mitzvah, students meet one-on-one with the Rabbi in weekly, personal sessions. In these sessions, our Rabbi not only ensures that the student will be fully prepared, but also that they understand the deeper meaning behind the ceremony of becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah. In some sessions, the student and rabbi study the Torah along with the parents, so the whole family becomes involved in the process.

Confirmation
After their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, students are invited to participate in our Confirmation class, where they meet monthly with the Rabbi to explore deeper aspects of Jewish faith and practice. They also participate in the L’Taken RAC Social Justice Conference in Washington, DC, a multi-day experience that empowers them to engage in social justice work and learn about the intersection of Judaism and activism.
